The Kindness Boomerang

One day when I was about four years old my old friend James and I were playing on the beach. After a while he found a giant crab about 9 centimeters wide.

He tried to pick it up but then it pinched him right across the palm. I ran and got his mum to get a bandage as we wait I give him company. I wondered   when his mum will come.

One month later at school I was walking around then James came and passed me a $30 gift card for the warehouse.

Kindness Is a boomerang the more you throw it the more it comes back to you.

Hedgehogs

Hedgehogs are cute spiky animals that are sometimes flat in the middle of the road or walking in the middle of nowhere.

Hedgehogs look like baby Porcupines they can grow up to around 25 cm in length. pet Hedgehogs have white fur on their faces and belly. when they are young the spines are white with small shades of very light brown stripes on them. Wild Hedgehogs have brown fur and brown spines with small white stripes on them.

Hedgehogs are half vegetarian and half carnivore. They feed on Insects, Snails, Frogs, Watermelons, Snakes, Mushrooms, Bird eggs, Grass roots, Berries, Melons and Toads. They drink water and sometimes milk. Pet Hedgehogs like milk a bit more than wild Hedgehogs.

Hedgehogs give birth and the don't lay eggs. when Hedgehogs give birth the baby doesn't have sharp spines instead they are born with hair that gets stiffer as they get older and the hairs turn into its spines. Hedgehogs normally have 3-4 newborns but for smaller species they give birth to about 5-6 newborns.

When Hedgehogs hibernate they stop being a warm blooded animal since this uses up too much energy. It's body temperature falls to match the surrounding environment. While hibernating the Hedgehog becomes cold to the touch because of their blood temperature. The Hedgehog stops moving, its breathing stops for long periods of time and the heart rate drops to around 20 beats per minute.

Hedgehogs are small spiky animals that are sometimes mistaken for baby Porcupines. Hedgehogs are cute animals that you can raise to be a good family pet.

Henry Hudson

Henry Hudson was a famous explorer and navigator. He was famous for exploring the sea and he gave the Hudson river its name by being the first person to explore it.

Henry Hudson repeatedly tried to make a route from Europe to Asia. He never accomplished his goal but he did name a few places on his honor. He was born in 1565 in United kingdom  England and lived in London. Not a lot of people know when he left home in died in 1611 or 1612 at the age of either 46 or 47 pretty young age to die isn't it but nobody knows where he died.

After getting married to a girl named Katherine while also having three sons named (John), (Richard) and (Oliver) did you know that Henry's son John went with him on all four of his trips . Henry Hudson mysteriously died in 1611 or 1612. After setting voyage across the sea’s of Northern Canada. Not even the smartest scientist in the world knows if he was lost or stranded with a year supply of food in his ship or hit an iceberg then died dramatically (just like the titanic).

Henry named his boat’s (Discovery) that was his first boat, (Hopewell) that was his second boat and (Half moon) that was his last boat. Henry Hudson was known for a lot of things I Don't think his two remaining sons will forget him. I said two because his oldest son went with him when he got lost or whatever happened at the end of his journey.

Henry Hudson was a famous Explorer and Navigator. He named the Hudson Bay, the Hudson River and a lot of other places.

A moment in time

I heard my sister laughing at me.

I heard people on the ride talking to each other.

I saw mum taking photos of me and dad as the ride started rocking.

I saw my dad holding his hands up as the platform started spinning.

I felt the platform get higher and higher as I hold my hands up like my Dad.

I felt my Dad smack my back as it reaches its top height.

I wondered how long I would be on the ride.

I wondered if mum will ride it.

How to check your bike.

Is your bike really that safe? Read all six paragraphs to find out if your bike is safe or not. The first paragraph is what you are reading now. The second paragraph is the ID number and the frame check. The next paragraph is the seat hand grips and handlebar check. The next paragraph is the brake and wheel check . The fifth paragraph is the pedal chain and reflection check than the conclusion.

First, pull the bike upside down and look right at the bottom beside the pedal and you will see an ID code it will be mainly letters and numbers. It will be something like 2 p 4 1 6  3 8 If it is carved in to it than you are lucky.The use of them is if your bike has one and someone steals it you can tell it is yours. Next check the frame by looking for rust and cracks starting to form in the medal.If it has a crack than you are just out of luck.

Now make sure the seat it tight and it can not spin at all. Make sure the seat sits at a height that is comfortable for you then tighten it to that it can not move in any direction. check that the handlebars are tight so they can not move up and down. Now time for the hand grips make sure that they are really tight so that they can't come off. If they do not have the caps on the side of them buy some more and clip them on make sure they are in so they won't fall off.

Now get a friend to hold the bike so the front wheel is not on the ground. Give the wheel a push so it spins make sure that it spins freely then pull the brakes and make sure that the wheel stops quick. Then repeat with the back wheel if the wheels do not spin freely than take it to a place that you can fix the brakes so it does not hit the wheel when you are not trying to stop you should have a helmet if that happens when you are riding than you can be prepared.

Another easy step is to check that you have white reflector on the front and red reflectors on the back. If you have no reflectors than you need to buy some red ones and a white one. Check your pedals by making sure they are not loose but they still spin freely. Now for the chain make sure that it does not hang loose so it can not fall off. If it is loose get a parent to tighten it so it doesn't hang.

Now with a safe bike you can have fun all day. Once you have done this you should be positive that your bike is safe and ready to ride. Do it every two months and feel the difference of your bikes safety.

Flying balls expeirement

Can you really make a ball fly with no strings?
Read this and do it by yourself to find out. Room 17 did an experiment to find out if you can balance a ping pong ball on a hair dryer. I do not think it will balance what do you think will happen.

Lets get the equipment get a hair dryer and a ping pong ball to see if it works get the hair dryer and turn it on so that the air is going up  put the ping pong ball on top of it and see if it works
If you did it you will see that it works because the wind is going around the ball creating a wall of wind circling around it so it can not escape the ball is also being blown up wile being pulled down by gravity so it stays at a certain height above the hair dryer.
